Is Marketing Champions Really Worth It? Well is Breaking the
Marketing Code Important to You?I'm not sure just how much thought went into this book. It's also very
hard to figure out how many hours the authors Roy A. Young, Allen M.
Weiss and David W. Stewart contributed to the over all preparation of
the concepts put into this book.
But after countless hours reading the chapters of this book before the
advance uncorrected proof, scrutinizing the first five chapters with
heavy introspection and experimentation of the ideas I can tell you the
following: It would take you countless personal hours, immeasurable
amounts of interviews, and the experience of CEO's from dozens of
companies to amass the wealth of knowledge that you can easily pull out
of this book.
So would you want to try to attempt what these authors have personally
done for you in order to give you insight beyond the competition? If you
wouldn't do you dream of failing in your endeavors as a marketing
advisor, consultant or company? Well I'm very proud to say that some of
the above endorsements from Phil Kotler and Seth Godin are more than
advertising endorsements by some of the leading marketing experts. But
they are genuine endorsements that really help you to recognize how rare
this book is. More importantly how different the perspective of these
three gentleman really are.
For example their input about what is a marketing compass?, How does a
marketing compass work?, and what you can do to put your own marketing
compass in order are sure to cause you to think more deeply about these
concepts.
Part one and two are so full of marketing ideas, so architecturally rich
in sound marketing concepts that truly the authors could have clearly
pulled their stop sign out and said "hey were going to stop right here"
but thank God they didn't. They went on in part three to go deeper than
a scuba diver in their exploration of how to manage east. Exploring
ideas that show you how you can "Bust Silos and Build Bridges" giving
you five techniques to apply some wonderful ideas.
And this is after a wealth of information where they show you how to
break down your Myths of Marketing. I'll admit first that my myths were
trapped but what I discovered from Roy Young is quite an eye opening
list of good marketing strategies that work. Their input on how to
improve upon your Marketing language will make a huge difference in your
marketing relationships. Whether they are in the company or outside of
the company the language barriers with in your grasp are very limited.
Here's your chance to break the marketing code. This really is a great
book with so many ideas I put it in the reference part of my library.
Why? Because I'll be using it to reference for many years to come.
Thanks for your time....................

A Crying Shame...And A Constant Reminder!
As a child who lived in the Chicago housing projects prior to moving to
Germany I became lost for words as I turned the pages of one of the most
moving books I've ever experienced. Places I've seen as a playful child
running across the country side now become surreal in my mind as I think
about the innocent lives that were slaughtered on that same ground. And
now that I've observed the photographs of my Jewish brothers and sisters
in this book "The Holocaust Chronicle" some things will never be the
same for me. I also believe that you will view life differently after
you've read this book.
For one this book describes the ghetto's of Europe during the Holocaust
using pictures and words that one would never imagine. It has so much
depth and meaning even in the words that it is quite amazing. For
instance the word "ghetto" (which in the United States has become a word
referencing the slums where poor Americans live) will no longer have the
same meaning for me as it use to. Some call the Housing Projects that I
came from in Chicago a ghetto...but this is a poor, poor use of the word
now that I've observed the ghettos of Europe during the Holocaust. Read
the book and you'll see exactly what I mean.
The Holocaust Chronicle is an excellent resource for virtually anything
you would like to know about this event in history. This book should
instantly become a part of all libraries in every community, private and
personal.
Having lived in Germany for nearly 5 years as a lad I've always
considered myself quite a history buff especially concerning military
affairs since my father spent his whole life serving the U.S. Army. But
I must say this amazing book proves that I am very ignorant of what went
on from 1933-1946. The humiliation, the physical and mental anguish,
even the use of art and symbols were all reconstructed to try to destroy
the Jew but thank God they were delivered from the hands of their
enemies. Although this book does not turn its face away from death but
sometimes deals with it head on it still contains with in it the hope of
deliverance, the determination of faith and the triumph of those who
suffer persecution.
I have now done much diligence to understand this part of history so
that I can connect with other human beings on this planet in a way that
is respectful. I must say Louis Weber the publisher and all the
contributing Authors and Consultants who poured their hearts and souls
into the development of "The Holocaust Chronicle" deserve much credit.
Although there is much suffering between these pages the details within
this book give us great understanding. It helps us all to realize,
respect and appreciate why we should be committed to never allow this to
happen again regardless of our religious beliefs, cultural, racial or
ethnic background. As you turn the pages you will be exposed to the
criminals but at the same time you will find yourself rejoicing when
heroic men and women went beyond what their government would not give
them the authority to do. Please hurry up and get this book, read it
today and share your ideas with others as I dedicate this review to my
Jewish mother Anita Gold.

Why should you Mind? Or Why should you play with it?
In the book writing industry there are hoards of books that grab your
attention by title. So the question becomes why should you mind? or why
should you play with it? --that is your mind-- I mean when it's the only
one you've got... why waste time playing "Mind Games"? Are there other
things you could do better? You know what I mean. I mean are there other
sure fired ways to help your performance with the human brain ...ways
other than playing with it? Sure there are many ways to employee your
knowledge and plenty of other ways to use life experiences to become
more productive. Here you go! Check out this neat little book called
"MIND GAMES". It's full of some interesting ways to play with your mind
and dozen of other ways to help your brian grow.
I've discovered or uncovered many ways that were once hidden from me all
because I stopped to play around with the way I think. You'll be
surprised at how much a little playing around with it helps your brian
to become open and ready for spontanious growth. You can do this quite
easily when you sit down with your favorite drink and read "Mind Games".
Oh I like grape juice with a little filtered water in it...what about
you?
The human mind is an amazing complex organisim in itself. It really
doesn't need our assistance at all. Sometimes a small application is all
thats needed. While most people are literally playing with it (and we
can tell that they're playing with it by how little they really use it
in a controlled way). I think there are many productive ways to use your
mind and a great deal many more ways in which you can benefit from
reading the simply written, easy to follow exercises in "Mind Games".
"Mind Games" shows you how the brain is laid out. Like an amazing map it
has some mind jerking titles that make you want to read the book. It
deals with concepts such as
How to win at chess
How to master remembering names or even the telephone directory
Increasing your listening skills
Thinking like a genius
How to feed your Brain
The importance of water toward improving increased thinking.
Developing Mental Toughness
and over 129 other topics that they expound on that reveal major
benefits to the mind enthusiast. The subject of Brian Gym is just as
interesting as How to be Assertive. One of my most favorite parts of the
book was when I stumbled across the subject of how to develop your
Listening Skills. Not even you can afford to over look learning new ways
that you could improve your skill of listening towards. Well Mind games
is a neat little book I'd like to recommend to you. Are you listening? I
sure hope you are..because if you're not...think of all the
relationships you could make huge improvements in if you were just
listening. Thanks for doing that!
Your Servant,
Deremiah, *CPE
PS
Did I tell you that MIND GAMES focuses on improving the mind? Can you
afford not to make mental improvements? I think you should Mind...I
think you should play with it! MIND GAMES? |

ONLY the rare have VISION...all the rest have Tele-VISION...Paul
Arden's a rare breed!
Dare to Think The Opposite is more than you Think...
This isn't the first Paul Arden book I've read through and examined for
review. The good news hopefully is it won't be the last Paul writes.
This book cuts to the gut of considering doing things differently
without being apprehensive. And in less time than you could read this
whole review backwards you can get through his new book. I think that's
also what makes the books written by Arden interesting. Their short on
paper but long on ideas. Great for you if you're always complaining
about not having enough time to get through a good book.
I think the only way to put mileage on an idle mind is to read books
that make you say huh! "I never thought of it like that". This makes a
book well worth the reading. Benjamin Franklin said in Poor Richard's
Almanack..."Reading makes a full man--Meditation a profound
man--Discourse a clear man."
So are you afraid of applying simple rules in the reverse? Do you often
just go with the status quo or follow common patterns or guidelines for
thinking? If you're not afraid to think in the opposite or if the
following title with the words backwards doesn't bother you than you may
be well on your way to something worth imagining differently. "WHATEVER
YOU THINK Think the Opposite" is worth your time.
The book opens up on page 7 with a Flop...and are you willing to take
one and try an idea that goes against reason?
In this day and age how willing are you to be unfashionable? Well get
ready to put on your high heeled sneakers as you prepare to take another
drastic right turn in a left turn lane which seems to spin out of
control on pg 16 & 17 in order to jump-start your thinking about "The
Height of Unfashion" and how taking risk to make a decision that's
unfashionable often leads you to the next unpredictable road to
greatness.
"The Age of Unreason", and "There is no right point of view" both make
you think about perspective and how yours could be screwing you up from
seeing the things you're missing. Now if you're not into progressive
thinking don't try this book. Again I think Paul Ardens on to something
and the cost of the book is worth taking a plunge to gain some great
increase in your imagination. I got a lot out of the book. In this
generation you need VISION not Tele-VISION to make it. As you can see I
like the book and you will too!

A Franklinian mindset develops clarity of thought and
sound mind
Poor Richard Ain't Poor no More
Benjamin Franklin has put together a masterpiece of self developing
ideas and proverbs for the intellectual and the simpleton. For the mentally
constipated and the indecisive. You too may think what can I learn from a dead
man whose been dead for over 216 years? I'll answer that one for you...You can
learn a lot! "Though he be dead yet does he still speak". All I can say is you
too might be surprised at how many errors you could have avoided if you only had
these thoughts by one of America's pivatol forefathers of our great country.
How often have you wanted to develop clarity of thought? To be able to
look through muddy waters filled with ideas and still see clearly. Have you ever
put a dollar amount on sound mind and maybe just what it's probably cost you in
worry? Well here's your chance to de-weed your ideas and make your mind-garden
grow. Every page of this wonderful book is full of rich parallels, clear
contrast and productive concepts.
I wouldn't tell you this book is
valuable if it were not. It's one of the most highly read books since the Bible
and after reading it one time you'll take a look at your calendar to mark-off
when you'll read it again. I know I have. Here's a few great ideas from the
book...
"Most People return small Favours, acknowledge middling ones,
and repay great ones with Ingratitude."
"He that scatters thorns, let
him not go barefoot"
"He that lieth down with dogs, shall rise up with
fleas"
"Cheese and salt meat should be sparinigly eat"
"Pay what
you owe and you'll know what is your own"
These are some of Benjamin
Franklins compulations of great thoughts and wonderful ideas to meditate upon. I
think I've found one of the few gems of Franklin and now know why he was such a
great scientist, inventor, publisher, advertising man, marketer, diplomat,
teacher, advocate against slavery and framer of the constitution. You'll enjoy
the book and if you don't send me your copy and I'll buy it off of you.

Advice for a Young CEO
Young Douglas Barry, has compiled
an interesting series of responses from Corporate CEO's, Presidents and top
executives on the things that really should matter to a broad range of readers.
One thing I liked about the book is how easily it read. This format comes in
handy for young teenagers and corporate types too busy to spend a whole bunch of
time getting the plot.
The diversity of ideas makes it another good read
for people too easily put off by one persons philosophy. Because in this book
you get several dozen different philosophies. But very few cross cultural
executives which would have opened the door just a little more on the
philosophical side from a broader global perspective.
This book also has
*Skip Ability...*the ability to skip from the front to the back without having
to feel like you're being forced to move in sequenced order.
I liked a
lot of things about this book but I don't think the book gives enough detail for
it to have adorned the title "Wisdom for a Young CEO". At least for me I'm
looking for more detail on specific challenges a young CEO may have to face in
their first years of running a major corporation. You know the kind of
adjustments that could cause you to make a company succeed or fail. Inspite of
that I still gave the book five stars because for the age range of the author
this book is a good resource whether you're a teenager, young adult or late
blooming business mind looking for direction and inspiration.
I think it
is an invaluable resource for so many types of people on a few different levels.
I also believe you'll enjoy it if this review opened your eyes on how the book
may work for you. Always remember that you get out of life what you give to life
on the front end. Have a great day!

If You're not Thinking Critically, you're Not
THINKING!
So what is Gelb trying to tell us
about thinking anyway? And does critically thinking creatively really matter
when there are so many other alternative ways to get answers in todays
non-critically thinking culture? When we've got the internet, books,
consultants, and some of the worlds greatest thinkers that have ever lived
---all living at the same time--- how can we benefit from digging up a dead man
by the name of Leonardo da Vinci anyway? Well there is an appropriate ancient
proverb found in the Hebrew text that says "though he be dead yet he still
speaketh". So is Gelb's book really necessary and does it add to the wealth of
knowledge that you already know about Leonardo?
Truthfully why do we
need to think like Leonardo anyway? Will it improve our understanding for the
next great mind blowing adventure we take? You'll find all your answers and so
much more in Michael J. Gelb's, National Bestseller. He writes a wonderful
introspective book on how Leonardo da Vinci was able to master his amazing
perspectives and at the same time summon up all of the Curosita' you could ever
imagine. What a da Vincian approach to da Vinci's multi-sided perspectives. I've
learned more about vision than I've ever been aware of. So if you want to
explore why Leonardo thought the way he did you need to get Gelb's book. Well
it's time to think and what better way to think clearly than to think
critically. I've been sharing some amazing values with a class of very bright
Glenwood school students and I'm expecting greater things to happen this new
year just because it can!
